The Turpin family has been involved in the automotive industry for over 60 years. Gaytan Turpin, son of J. Fernand Turpin, worked at his father's dealership in Ottawa. After his studies in automotive marketing and operations at both Northwood and the General Motors Institute, Gaytan in August 1982 purchased Laniel Autos Limitée, a family business serving the Hawkesbury community for over 60 years. Selling Buick, GMC and Cadillac products and being committed to customer satisfaction allowed the business to thrive. In September 1996, Turpin Autos expanded its base of operation to include the Chevrolet and Oldsmobile product lines and became the sole General Motors dealership in the community.
